Tim Curry, the British actor who became a pop-culture icon as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," has died at 80.
Curry's death was confirmed by his publisher, Jimmy Franco, senior director of publicity at Grand Central Publishing. "Yes, it is true and very sad indeed." Franco added that he did not have a statement to share at this time.
Curry’s decades-long career included memorable roles in "It," "Clue" and "Annie." He suffered a major stroke in 2012 and spent years recovering. His death marks the loss of one of film and theater’s most distinctive performers.
