Welcome to Screencaps, "America's Best Daily Column," as named by the readers. Screencaps, which publishes seven-days-a-week, is a mix of sports, pop culture, and emails from sane readers from around the world. This column isn't for the coastal elites. Give us a week to steal your heart. Our track record is pretty good. Let's have some fun.
For tennis star-turned pickleball star Genie Bouchard, she's had enough of Maria Ford's antics on the court. Watch this and you make the call if Bouchard was a poor sport after this match where Ford was yelling 'C'mon' after random points.
I'm Team Genie here. The yelling is obnoxious.

And just like that, Screencaps Jr.'s junior high cross country career in NW Ohio is over after last night's league race where he took on a notoriously tough, hilly course and finished the two-mile race somewhere around 11:43. I say "somewhere" because the event host still hasn't posted the times and they forgot to add in our fifth runner to the scoreboard.
Was it a full moon last night?
I saw something during the race that I can't even write about to protect kids who are still trying to figure out life. I'm still in shock. It wasn't a fight or a punch thrown. Let's just say Screencaps Jr.'s team finished runner-up in a completely bizarre fashion.
At the end of the day, Screencaps Jr. ran his ass off and he'll now head to the Ohio junior high state championship to see if he can lower his PR on a very fast course.
If you were to tell me 15 months ago that Jr. would be where he's at with cross country, I would've called you insane, yet here we are.
In 2012, I came up with a bit called "Tweet Her Seat" where I bought Front Rom Amy's seat from her (she used to sell tickets to this seat on eBay) and I had a Playboy model friend sit in the seat and take over the Busted Coverage Twitter account to interact with fans.
I'm talking the early days of Twitter. It helped build the account, there's no doubt about that. That feels like a lifetime ago. That's how long Amy has been sitting in this exact seat.
– Paul in La Crosse, WI shares how his group plays: First, some background. I've been in a golf league 20 years. The league was originally a church mens club league and has been active 52 years. It is no longer church men's club exclusive (they accepted me!). We play Tuesday afternoons at a small 32 par executive course. This is only the 2nd course the league has ever played on. The original, Hillview Golf Course, was a little par 27 course created on farm pasture. Thousands of kids learned to golf there.
As some leagues go, we have hole prizes, side games and some non-standard golf rules.
To keep the flow moving on the course (we play one group after another) gimmee's on putts were allowed but can only be offered by your playing partner that day. Some players started taking advantage and would assume the gimmee. A couple years ago, in another effort to "keep it movin", the gimmee rule changed to putter length. Hardly any of us are that good/consistant (50+ people in the league). Players have been complaining. Putter lengths obviously differ and matches could be won/lost. So, for next years golf season, the rule has reverted to playing partner gimmee only.
– John in Murfreesboro, TN emails: I don't really have a full integrity golf story, but I will say I don't take gimmes unless they're inside 1 foot. Even then, I'll putt most of them, unless we're trying to keep pace. Hole out, that's how I was taught. But it is amazing how quick others are to give you a putt that's not a gimme at all.
Having said that, I usually play just to have fun, so sometimes the rules get bent. Being against a tree and in danger of hitting a root? No thanks, move it out. Take an unplayable if you're being completely honest with yourself. In the middle of the fairway but in some idiot's divot? Uh uh. I don't report scores for handicap, never play tournaments, etc., so no one cares what my scorecard reads. I don't even tell my wife when I get home (she doesn't care anyway). I play to enjoy the game and sometimes the rules get in the way of that. I don't usually remember my score anyway, I remember the good shots I hit that day, and try to forget the bad ones!
– Jonathan D. makes his Screencaps debut: I have never played 100% "down" because I feel if I m in the middle of the fairway and find a dead spot, I m going to roll in out. Not closer to the hole and not 3 feet away but within 18 inches back or lateral. That being said, the last 2 years I have played all my shots down and whether with my buddies or with my legit handicapped league (my dad's old man group that I play with during the summers), I play them down. It has been some of the most rewarding and frustrating rounds of my life. 50 rounds in just the last 2 summers. I am an elementary school teacher, so most of my golf is summer time.
Happily divorced which is the reason I can play so much! I always hovered in the low to mid 80s when I improved my ball position or took mulligan (we often allow 1 on each 9). Over 2 summers, my legit handicap is 13 with some rounds near +18 and others at +8. Last summer I was consistently +18-20.
This summer I got it consistently at +10-12. I am not a pro nor do I put in that time. But I take so much more pride in my game now than I ever have before. My dad was a legit scratch (played HS, college and some mini senior tours in his 50s). He is now a +6 (72 years old) and still kicks my ass on the regular. Lol! I'll out drive him by 40 yards and he'll birdie to my bogey. Golf is a special bond that we have. He told me how proud he is that I have gotten my game where it s at. I really don't care what I shoot when we play, as long as we play. Hard to go back to shaving strokes when it's laid out like that...at least for me it is.
– Strat says he'll play whatever he wants to play: I play only if the other three guys will play best ball on every shot, on every hole; I always improve my lie; I play a "Mulligan" anywhere, anytime. It’s a social outing, not a competition. We have fun!
– 13 handicap Kenny writes: I split my time between Texas and Colorado. In Tx, I play with guys for some money. 1$ skins, $5 gereenies on par 3s, lots of side bets, etc. we all play by the rules, because we r betting money.
In CO, it’s a different story. I play with lots of retired folks and there is no betting. So, almost all folks take multiple mulligans (breakfast balls), move their golf ball around, kick it from behind trees , etc. i don’t mind since we’re not playing for money.
However, one incident really pissed me off.
On a par 4, i drove the ball well. Then, hit the approach on the green. Long downhill putt. I left myself an 8 foot par putt (uphill) and made the putt. Whew.
Another guy in the group, hit his tee shot into the water. Re-teed, taking a mulligan. Then, hit his drive left of the cart path in a log of "fescue". He was in really rough stuff, embedded under a bush. He "placed" his ball on a tuft of grass away from the bush. Then, he hit a pretty good shot to the apron of the green. He putt from the apron to 3 1/2 feet. He then, gives the putt to himself and says "wow, That was a good par" to all of us. I couldn’t believe it. He had a 7 and then claimed he had a "great par".
I would not mention this if he hadn’t been so proud of his "par". Just insane !!!
Please make it all end. Maybe that's the plan. Wear us down with stupidity.

And finally this morning, imagine being in this position with this amount of money on the table. Stick around to see how this plays out.
Bonus: that wet fart was a nice touch.
