For those who might not know, the Allies launched a massive deception campaign before D-Day aimed at convincing the Germans that the invasion of Western Europe would come through somewhere other than Normandy.

Specifically, the Allies wanted the Germans to believe the main landing would be at Pas-de-Calais. In order to achieve this goal, the Allies employed several deception tactics, including making fake vehicles and phantom armies that didn't exist.

In hindsight, it was one of the most brilliant moves in military history, and it helped give the brave men on the beaches in Normandy a better chance against the German forces tasked with holding the territory.

Now, the story will come to life with Nicolas Cage leading the way in "Fortitude."

The film is set to be released at some point in 2026, but there's no official release date yet. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
