Last month, OutKick Dropkick highlighted one of the most unique events in pro wrestling.

Banger Zone Wrestling, a European promotion, held Watermania at an aquatics center in France. Videos from the event showed the ring propped up in a pool with wrestlers slipping and sliding in the ring and taking bumps into the water.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) star Donovan Dijak was a part of that event. He said in a recent interview that Banger Zone Wrestling called him to see if he was interested in performing at the event. He said when he initially saw it on social media, he thought it was the "craziest thing" he’d ever seen.

When Dijak learned the company was going to put on another show, he had to be there and made it work despite having a booking at Progress Wrestling. He said he didn’t want to be on his "deathbed" thinking about the time he had passed on doing something as interesting as Watermania.

"As I was watching the show and watching them put together the ring, I was like this is surreal, so much so that like just as a fan I started recording clips and the viral clip that everybody saw of the ring kind of tilting and coming back up was me," he told OutKick Dropkick. "I recorded that just as a fan, and then 20 minutes later I was wrestling in the ring, which I'm going to be honest, I'm always honest, did not feel safe because it was sopping wet. Thankfully, again, like we just talked about, when you get an opportunity like that, take advantage of the uniqueness of the scenario."

Dijak said he only really wanted to perform moves into the water and maybe a headlock in the ring, "which is exactly what you saw."

"You saw me chokeslamming him into the water, moonsaulted in the water, then we brawled around the pool and he started drowning me and stuff like that because that's what's different," he said. "I can grab a headlock and do a headlock takeover and do a hip toss into a cool spot in any ring. I can do it any weekend. I do it all the time. When am I ever going to be able to chokeslam someone in off the top rope to the floor, basically into a pool that explodes with water and then moonsault into a pool. Never ever again, right? I knew I wanted to get out of that scenario, and we got so many incredible moments and incredible clips from that match."

Dijak said he hopes to one day to wrestle his opponent, Scar, again in the future.

"That was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience. I'm not saying I won't do it again, because I probably would if the opportunity presented itself, but it's not something I'm going to go out of my way to do like I did the first time because it was so much fun. It was such an incredible experience, but you know, there's some risk involved. There's always risk involved in professional wrestling. That ring, very wet, right, which is gonna happen. It's on a pool, right? So we knew the risks going in, but once you step in it and you start slipping around, you're like, we gotta get to the pool fast."

Dijak is one half of a tag team known as The Skyscrapers. He was one half of the tag team champions for nearly a year before dropping the belt to the Good Brothers.

The Skyscrapers can be seen in the ring on "Fusion," which airs on Tubi, Veeps and YouTube.
