The McRib is making a limited-time return to McDonald's menus, but not every location will be serving the fan-favorite sandwich.

Beginning Oct. 27, the sandwich will be available at McDonald's restaurants in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas and others, the company confirmed to Fox News Digital.

Customers can check the McDonald's app to see if restaurants near them are offering the celebrated menu item.

"Welcome back, legend!" McDonald's senior marketing director Guillame Huin said in a post on X.

René Arend, a Luxembourgish-American chef, invented the McRib in 1981, Huin wrote.

The McRib was discontinued as a permanent menu item in 2012, but it has been brought back annually as a limited-time item since 2020, according to the New York Post.

Last year, the McRib returned to certain areas in mid-November, while it returned nationwide in late November 2024.

Some fans are staunch defenders of the polarizing pork sandwich, which consists of a boneless pork patty smothered in tangy barbecue sauce, topped with onions and pickles and served on a toasted roll.

"I love them! I've had 6 so far and just can't get enough," a Reddit user said in a thread from a few years ago.

"I've had this ever since I was in high school and I still really like it whenever it comes back," said another.

Others don't find it as appealing or are simply indifferent.

One Reddit user claimed to eat the sandwich only out of "pure necessity."

Another Reddit user called it "edible," while someone else said "it just tasted like a sausage patty with BBQ sauce and pickles."

It's unclear how long the McRib will stick around, so fans hoping to get their hands on one may want to act fast.
