Gold medal-winning Team USA hockey players will be making an appearance on 'Celebrity Family Feud'

The year 2026 is just about halfway over, but it is already one of the greatest on record for USA Hockey.

This year, the Americans swept the gold medals at the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, with the men's team, the women's team, and the Paralympic team all taking the top step of the podium in their respective tournaments.

And that's good enough for one of the highest honors our nation has to offer: an appearance on "Celebrity Family Feud."

Oh, man. The hallowed hall that Richard Dawson, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O'Hurley, and Steve Harvey built.

The episode will air on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, and will feature Team USA men — comprised of NHLers Dylan Larkin and Connor Hellebuyck, along with Paralympians Griffin LaMarre, Jack Wallace, and Declan Farmer — against Team USA women, with captain Hilary Knight, Hannah Bilka, Cayla Barnes, Laila Edwards, and Caroline Harvey representing the team.

I'm all in on this. I admittedly haven't watched "Family Feud" — celebrity or civilian edition — in quite some time, but it's an institution. I'd go so far as to say it's one of our nation's great game shows. Up there with "The Price Is Right," "Hollywood Squares," and that one Steph Curry came up with that was basically just people playing minigolf on the same obstacle course from the show "Wipeout."

Hell, I might tune in just to watch Steve Harvey wrestle with the name "Connor Hellebuyck." That alone sounds like gold, Jerry.

It's also a great opportunity to get some Team USA faces back on TV as the entire USA Hockey program from top to bottom has never been stronger.

The next World Cup of Hockey isn't until 2028, and the next Olympics aren't until 2030. So whatever can keep American puck — and hockey in general — in the bloodstream as it continues this heater it's been on since the 4 Nations Face-Off is always going to be a great idea.
