A deputy with the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office stood between a Florida man and his attempt to catch his cheating girlfriend in the act. To be completely fair to the officer here, he was just doing his job.

Florida's "super speeder" law put Gavin Ames in handcuffs in the back of the deputy's vehicle. He was clocked just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 1 for allegedly driving 110 mph in a 60 mph zone, FOX 13 reported.

When the deputy asked him the reason he was driving so fast, Ames didn’t dispute that he was speeding or even trying to play word games in order to search for an excuse.

He didn’t need to. He had a perfectly good excuse. Not one that was going to get him out of trouble, but one that anyone who has been cheated on can relate to.

He replied to the deputy, "I'm actually on my way to my cheating girlfriend's house." That answer was met with the customary step out of the vehicle and put your hands behind your back.

The deputy then explained that anything over 50 mph over the speed limit was good for a free trip to jail. He placed Ames in cuffs and then in his vehicle for his free trip.

Trying to process the fact that he had ended up in the back of a police vehicle while he was on his way to catch his girlfriend cheating on him brought Ames an interesting realization.

He was going to be calling this cheating girlfriend of his to bail him out.

"I’m just in shock right now. I’m in the back of a cop car listening to Boss Man D-Lo at one o’clock in the morning to catch my cheating girlfriend," Ames said on video to the deputy from the backseat of the deputy's vehicle.

"Now, I’m going to get bailed out by her."

All in all, the early morning could have ended much worse for this Florida man. He could have caused an accident or, potentially even worse, actually caught his girlfriend in the act and snapped.
