Saquon Barkley’s name has been linked to speculation that the Philadelphia Eagles could trade the star running back before next month’s deadline.

The three-time Pro Bowler has missed two games this season due to injury, and the Eagles have lost quarterback Jalen Hurts for the remainder of the year, fueling speculation that Barkley could land with a new NFL team at some point this season.

While Barkley is still carrying the ball for the Eagles, he’s apparently dropping one of his business ventures.

Barkley said he was forced to divest his equity stake in Polymarket because of league rules that ban NFL players from investing in or endorsing gambling or prediction-market companies.

He told Front Office Sports that any involvement with prediction markets is no longer allowed by the NFL.

"I was in it before, but no bueno," the Super Bowl champion said.

The NBA, Major League Baseball, NHL and MLS all have deals with either Kalshi or Polymarket or both.

Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James has a reported $15 million per year salary as a paid endorser for Polymarket. He recently appeared in a star-studded commercial that included cameos by Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Sue Bird and others.

Prediction markets provide an opportunity to trade on the result of future events. Sports account for a major portion of the volume generated by the array of typically yes-or-no questions, depending on the platform.

Barkley has not practiced this week and remains listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against Washington. He scored his first rushing touchdown of the season in a Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Barkley has rushed for 244 yards this season.

The Eagles enter Week 8 with a 2-5 record.
